Tallmadge is our home base, so projects here get the shortest drive and the quickest site visits we can offer. We build agricultural buildings, commercial buildings, residential garages and workshops, and equipment storage for property owners across the city.
We work across the Cleveland area, about 40 miles north of our Tallmadge shop. Being realistic about where pole buildings fit matters here. On typical residential lots in neighborhoods like Ohio City and Tremont, detached accessory buildings are capped at 15 feet tall and garages are limited in size, so a large pole barn usually isn't allowed.
Akron sits right next to Tallmadge, which makes it one of the easiest places for us to work. Most Akron projects are garages and workshops on residential lots, and storage or shop buildings on commercial and industrial property.
Erie is about 125 miles from our Tallmadge shop, roughly two and a half hours by road, so we plan Erie-area projects carefully and schedule site visits and crews to keep travel efficient.
Canton is about 29 miles south of our Tallmadge shop by I-76 and I-77. Most pole building projects in the area land in the Stark County townships around the city, such as Jackson, Plain and Perry: farm buildings, equipment storage, shops and larger garages on suburban and rural lots.
Lorain is about 55 miles northwest of our Tallmadge shop, roughly an hour and a quarter by road. Lorain County is one of Ohio’s leading nursery and greenhouse counties and has plenty of soybean and corn ground, so farm buildings and equipment storage make up a good share of the work around the city, along with garages and shops.
Youngstown and the Mahoning Valley are about 43 miles east of our Tallmadge shop via I-76. Work here ranges from equipment storage and contractor shops to farm buildings in the townships around the city and garages on residential lots.
Cuyahoga Falls is about 5 miles northwest of our Tallmadge shop, a 10- to 15-minute drive. The city offers two very different settings for a pole building: older neighborhoods near downtown and the river with compact lots, and the former Northampton Township area to the northwest, where rural lots run to eight acres or more.
Stow borders Tallmadge to the north, and the center of the city is about 6 miles from us up State Route 91, a trip of roughly 15 minutes. We build garages, workshops, equipment storage and commercial buildings in Stow, and help Stow residents plan farm and horse barns on land nearby.
Kent is about 6 miles northeast of our Tallmadge shop, roughly a 12-minute drive across the Summit-Portage county line. Much of the city is built up around downtown and Kent State University, so the pole buildings that fit inside city limits are mostly garages and workshops on residential lots, and shops, warehouses and equipment buildings on industrial land.
Hudson is about 10 miles north of Tallmadge, a drive of roughly 20 minutes straight up State Route 91 through Stow. We build garages, workshops, farm and horse barns, equipment storage and commercial buildings here.
Mogadore is about 4 miles south of our Tallmadge shop, roughly a 10-minute drive, so site visits here are quick to arrange. Because the village straddles the Summit-Portage county line, people often ask which county issues the building permit. In Mogadore it is always Summit County: after the village zoning permit is approved, any structure over 200 square feet goes to Summit County for a building permit, and the village states that Portage County does not issue building permits inside its limits.
Medina is about 33 miles west of our Tallmadge shop, roughly 45 minutes by road, mostly on I-76. We group Medina-area site visits and schedule deliveries ahead, and because the city publishes its full zoning code, many questions about your lot can be answered before the first visit.
